CBT | Greater Washington DC | PsychologistI am a licensed clinical psychologist in Arlington, Virginia with expertise in treating adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy. My approach to therapy is down-to-earth, practical, and solution-oriented. As a clinical psychologist I have extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and have seen many clients improve using these techniques. I have helped people overcome their problems in a variety of settings including hospitals, university counseling centers, community mental health clinics, and schools.
I have extensive knowledge and experience working within special education. I worked for over ten years as a psychologist for Fairfax County Public Schools, counseling adolescents with significant mental health issues. Having treated these young people makes me a valuable resource for parents involved in the special education process. My low-key style and sense of humor works well with teens who are reluctant to try counseling. I am a former adjunct professor of psychology at George Washington University and am credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology as well as the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). I work with people on a variety of topics and my areas of particular specialty include:
